How Kids Can Help

FOOD DRIVES
Your kids can make a big difference by organizing a food drive.  Options where kids can organize a food drive are in their classroom, at their school, at their homeschool co-op, their Sunday school class or in their neighborhood.  With adult supervision they can make flyers, posters to distribute with the date and requested items.  We accept non-perishable food items.   We encourage families to get creative.  You and your child/children can set a goal like a certain number of items collected.  The donations can be dropped off during our pantry hours that are listed above.  Please contact us for more information.

BIRTHDAY BAGS
Neighbors that are experiencing food emergencies or food shortages many times have to leave birthday items off of the grocery list for the week.  Families can decide how many bags they want to contribute and how they obtain the items for the bags.  One idea is that when your child is having a birthday party, guests could be asked to bring donations for the bags instead of gifts.  Or again, any groups they belong to or classes they are in could contribute.  Contents of the bags should include the following:
Cake Mix & frosting
Candles
Paper plates & napkins
Small party favors & balloons

NEIGHBORS FOOD PANTRY FUNDRAISER
Kids are great fundraisers.  Financial contributions really help purchase items that we are low on or purchase dairy and meat products that are needed.  By fundraising this helps our kids learn charitable giving.  Some ideas of ways they could raise funds for Neighbors Food Pantry are:
Bake or Yard Sales
Car Wash
Lemonade Stand
Chores

ADOPT A SHELF
This option is great for your child's classroom, team, neighborhood and even your family.  Pick from one of items on our list and your group collects the product each month and then donates them to Neighbors Food Pantry.  You can adopt a shelf for as long as you would like.
