Our Story
How We Began:
In 2020, during the COVID pandemic, our founders, Judy and Michele were concerned that everyone in their community had access to food. It was discovered that Eliot was the only Southern Maine community that did not have their own food pantry. That is how Neighbors Food Pantry came about.
Neighbors is a ministry of Eliot Baptist Church. We are 100% volunteer driven. We operate on a funds from EBC and then we rely on donations from individuals and community businesses. We are a partner with Good Shepherd Food Bank who helps us by accessing grocery for us to purchase and grants that help us purchase equipment. We also partner with Hannaford who weekly donates groceries.
