Sometimes, the most powerful change begins with the smallest voice—and the biggest heart.
Lily is one of those children who sees a problem and doesn’t look away. Lily was concerned that some children might not have enough food to eat. Instead of brushing it off, she carried that worry with her and decided to do something about it.
She brought her concern to the principal at her school and asked, “What can we do to help kids who are hungry?” The principal listened, then asked Lily what she wanted to do.
Her answer was simple but powerful: “Let’s do a food drive.”
From there, the idea blossomed. The school rallied around Lily’s compassion, organizing a food drive.

Students, families, and staff all joined in, bringing in canned goods, dry staples, and non-perishables. Together, they filled boxes and boxes of groceries.
Those boxes were delivered to our food pantry, where they are now helping families in our community. Because of Lily’s heart and her action, many children and their families will have nourishing meals on their tables.
It’s a reminder that children can do truly amazing things. Sometimes, they just need someone to listen—and to believe in the change they can spark.
We are so grateful for Lily’s compassion, courage, and hard work. Her heart inspired a whole school and made a real difference in our community. Thank you, Lily—you are a light to us all.
